Classes

All In Dance Academy provides age-appropriate dance education for dancers of all abilities, ages 2-18. Whether your son wants to learn the latest TikTok moves or your daughter wants to plié in a pink tutu, we’ll have a class that fits their personality.

What is dance class like?

At All In, our classes range from 30 minutes to an hour based upon age and skill level. Classes begin with a warm-up and stretch, then move to fun and informative lessons on technique, rhythm, creativity, and much more. As dancers progress throughout the year they will begin learning and practicing their recital dance, which parents will be able to watch performed on stage at our end-of-year show.

What is recital?

Recital is our end-of-year showcase performance. Held in a theatre, it gives dancers the opportunity to experience and get comfortable with being on stage and performing in front of a crowd. Dancers will participate in a group dance with the rest of their class and have a chance to show their families what they learned throughout the year. Recital is held in June to close out the school year.

Is there a dress code?

Yes. Your dress code will be dependant on age, experience, and the style of dance your child signs up for. We make it easy for you to purchase everything you need for the dress code online, with more specific details provided upon registration.

What do I do while my child is in class?

Parents are welcome to stay in the lobby (depending on current COVID-19 regulations), where we will have TVs for you to watch your child participate in class. There are also a number of things to do in the surrounding area, including grocery shopping at the Harris Teeter, access to the greenway, Southpoint Mall, and the rest of the shops at Sutton Station.

Pricing

For weekly dance classes, tuition is paid monthly based on the number of hours taken per week and a 10-month dance calendar (August-May). Styles We Teach

Tap

Tap dance features a specially designed shoe that makes noise as dancers strike their feet against the floor. High-energy and fun, tap will help your dancer connect with the rhythm of the music and express themselves through both movement and sound.

Jazz

Jazz is a combination of classical ballet technique with American pop culture. Set to more modern, age-appropriate music, jazz classes provide the ability for dancers to express themselves while building stamina and learning the tricks they have seen in the media.

Ballet

The mother of dance technique, ballet is a classical art form that emphasizes grace and precision. Dancers work on body control, conditioning, and coordination while in class. We encourage all students to take ballet, as it will significantly help your dancer improve in other styles.

Hip Hop/Acro

This class combines the strong sharp movements of hip hop with acrobatics and tumbling tricks. Dancers will focus on the tricks and break dancing skills needed for high school and college dance teams such as kip ups, front/back handsprings, aerials and more.

Lyrical/Contemporary

In this combo class, dancers will work on contemporary elements such as contract-release, fall-recovery and floor work combined with controlled legwork, jumps, turns and other lyrical elements. They will also learn how to apply their technique and how to use music and lyrics to inspire the expression of their movement. With an emphasis on improvisation and characteristics of modern dance, these are great classes to help dancers get more comfortable with themselves and work on their creativity.

Flexitech

This class focuses on flexibility and technique. It is great for dancers who want to improve tricks such as their leaps, jumps, turns, extensions and much more.

Tap Hop

Our unique combination of Tap and Hip Hop is great for young dancers who want an upbeat, high-energy class. We combine the improvisation of Hip Hop with the precision and body control of Tap to give new dancers a strong foundation to build on.

Combo

Our combination classes are meant to give dancers a taste of multiple styles in the same class. It gives new dancers a chance to experiment and try their strengths to see which styles they connect with.
